My sister who is based in Oxford for a scholarship visited London for the Barrio Fiesta. Last year the barrio fiesta had over 60,000 visitors . Wow. The Barrio Fiesta has been so successful that it was held for two days. Last July 15-16, 2006, Filipinos from all over UK converged in Lampton Park, Hounslow, London to celebrate the 22nd annual Barrio Fiesta. I wished I were there to be with my 2 sisters. My other sister who is based in San Francisco flew just to visit my sister in Oxford. The sight of Filipino food and our fellow countrymen must have been such a comfort .

Banana is known to be the happiness fruit or even a comfort food to others. Snacking on banana chips is a healthier alternative compared to the processed junk food. It contains more fiber too. The bananas used for the chips are from the “saba” (cooking bananas) variety. The only problem I have with banana chips is when there’s too much sugar in it or when the oil used isn’t vegetable oil. When I feel this nagging urge to binge, I choose banana chips and munch away as I type on my macbook.
