As a young child growing up in Cebu, the hot tsokolate drink evokes the most of sweet childhood comfort. The aroma is just comforting to the senses. Now that I am in Manila, I stock up on the tablea (cacao) so that I can come up with my hot tsokolate any time. It’s not easy to make hot tsokolate. Cooking time takes more than 10 minutes and needs a special kettle.
Enter TSOKO.NUT. My husband and I found this small but cozy food place at the second floor of Walter Mart Mall along Pasong Tamo avenue in Makati City (across Don Bosco School). My husband ordered their combo of the hot tsokolate with bibingka (flat cake) for a little over 100 pesos. While I was busy snapping away photos of Tsoko.Nut, the manager thought I was some food writer. “No..I blog about food in my photo blog”. The manager seemed pleased and upsized my chocolate drink. How’s that for blogger’s perk? I enjoyed the moment with my husband as I sipped my piping hot tsokolate drink served the old-fashioned way.
