Last saturday, my family and I went to visit a prospective property that we were interested in buying. We were all sold to this beautiful house so we all sat down for lunch at Freska to discuss our plans before we met the buyer. Fresk offers the best of Ilonggo seafood dishes at along katipunan avenue near Blue Ridge village.

One has to have a full tummy in order to negotiate the terms of the sale. Ilonggo cuisine is unfamiliar to me so I let my husband order the dishes.

First on the list was oysters, freshly transported in through Philippines Air Lines. Then my hubby chooses KBL (short for Kadios, Baboy and Langka), a sour soup dish with black beans, pork and unripe langka (jackfruit) and unripe tamarind for the broth . The soup is so similar to the Sinigang except for the ingredients added to the sour broth. Chicken Inasal (Roasted Chicken) is a must among Visayan dishes as one doesn’t need a sauce to make the meal delicious.

Feeling contented with our meal, we were more than prepared to meet the owner of the property. To make the long story short, we got the house! Freska is our lucky restaurant.
