Feeling giddy over the free two dozen doughnuts, my two daughters pose by the sign at Krispy Kreme Greenhills that says THE HOTLIGHT IS ON in TWO DAYS.
Blooey Singson ,the PR consultant for Krispy Kreme invited a few bloggers to attend this event. She knows the viral marketing effect among bloggers. If I am not mistaken, she’s one of the first to promote PR events among bloggers . Blooey is one smart PR consultant. No wonder other PR agencies are following suit by inviting bloggers to these events.
Bloggers like Abe, Gail, Marc, Enrico, Apples, Chris, Nina, Annalyn, and my 2 daughters (Lauren and Marielle) attended the Krispy Kreme Coffee and Doughnut VIP Party . The branch is still scheduled to open on Thursday, June 28. (Read their promotion details here)

I am basically a food blogger or more like a photo blogger. So when Jayvee first broached the idea of a food writing workshop, I was excited to learn how to actually write. Being a food technologist, I only know how to rate food according to rating scales , their ph or bacterial count. A food writer is different from a food blogger.
Anyway, you might want to join the first Blogger Food Writing Workshop. Here are the details
WHAT: The first blogger food writing and photography class!
WHEN: July 14 10:00 AM
WHERE: Serye Restaurant at Eastwood City, Libis
This event is coordinated by Jayvee while The HANDS ON food critique class will be given by Christine Nunag, columnist of leading local industry magazine, F&B World. She is also a graduate of Creative Writing from the Writer’s Bureau in England. You can read more of Christine at her blog, The Hundred Pound Foodie.

I’m not a wine lover but when I got to taste tamarind wine, it didn’t had that bitter taste. Too bad our tamarind fruit is too sour to be eaten in its natural state. So the natural thing to do is develop the fruit into processed foods like this tamarind candy,
It’s been almost 19 years since I last visited Balaw-Balaw Restaurant and Museum in Angono. It was Marielle’s baptismal celebration party . I had dreams that my daughter would grow into an artist one day and having it at this restaurant fitted my dreams. Oh well, she’s not an artist as in paint artist though but she loves to sing. Anyway, what is Balaw-Balaw?
Balaw-Balaw is actually a sauce native to Angono, made of fermented shrimps, gruel, and red rice. The founder, Perdigon Vocalan, who passed away in 2001, wanted to promote the culture of Angono by opening up a specialty restaurant serving native and exotic dishes. Have you ever tried eating snake or bayawak? For the brave souls like me, it is actually an interesting dish that tastes like chicken with the consistency of fish. Aside from these not-so-common dishes, Balaw also offers the widest selection of Filipino dish
