My first encounter with Pancit Lucban was in Lucban itself. My dad’s hometown is Sariaya , Quezon which is not far away from Lucban. Made from rice flour rather than wheat flour and eggs, the local noodles got its name and developed its unique attraction by the way it is eaten. Pancit Lucban is hawked in the streets and served on a piece of banana leaf, without any fork so it is eaten straight from the leaf, aka “habhab”-style.

It was a pleasant surprise to know that Pancit Lucban can be found in Manila. My husband and I found “Buddy’s Pancit Lucban” over at Tycoon Building, Pearl Drive at the Ortigas Center. I was dying to eat it again just because of the memory of me and my dad in Lucban.
My husband got a big serving of the Pancit Lucban served in banana leaf. Priced at around 122.00 pesos , I thought I could never consume the pancit with my husband. But I did and I didn’t have to eat it without a fork.

I’ve been hearing about pancit habhab and was curious about it. Now at least I know what it looks like. It looks delicious! May recipe ka?
