Through the combined initiatives of Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and Toblerone, October 20 was officially declared as National Thank You Day and has gained overwhelming support from different societal sectors. The pleasant surprise was the unmatched cooperation retailers have shown in this pioneering effort to revive the lost art of saying Thank You—redefining appreciation as they lend their support to instilling a sense of gratefulness in the metro.
The basic act of showing gratitude has always been more than just about good manners and etiquette. But the art of expressing gratitude—marked by thank you notes, small gifts and even the odd chocolate now and then—seems to have taken a back seat to make room for today’s fast paced lifestyles.
This is the reason why Toblerone, the global icon for graciousness and gifting is seeking to revive this act of warmth and propriety. “Toblerone has played a role in making people feel that kindness is valued. We are elated that we were able to set an example for other private enterprises in amplifying the importance of expressing gratitude in the country,” says Jondy Syjuco, Marketing Manager for Toblerone in the Philippines. “Moreover, Toblerone and other retailers want to encourage Filipinos to take a step further by being thankful, not just in words, but in deeds as well.”
As part of this groundbreaking initiative, Toblerone, along with its retail partners have taken a sweet step to make Metro Manila a more appreciative and grateful city.
Retail outlets such as Rudy Project, Time Depot, Royal Elastics, Fully Booked, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Flower Express, All Flip-Flops, David & Goliath, T-box are all behind the movement that aims to remind Filipinos to express their gratitude to everyone who makes their lives in some way better.
Join the nation in reviving the art of saying thank you. Come to the Mall of Asia on October 20 to catch live performances from Stonefree, True Faith, Cynthia Alexander and other upcoming bands. Admission is free. Don’t be left out in this celebration of Filipino gratitude
