pinoy noche buena in America

Just because you’re miles away from home, doesn’t mean you can’t have your favorite Filipino treats for your Noche Buena. My relatives from Hercules, California sent us pictures of their Christmas dinner and it looks to me like their menu was even more Filipino than ours.

Just like ours, their Noche Buena was fairly light. Lots of Filipino pastries like puto and ensaymada were on the table, and the main course consisted of pansit and barbecued liempo. For dessert, they had warm ginataan, which is something I haven’t had myself in quite a while.

Of course, most of these food items were ordered from the Filipino Store.

    very Filipino…

our noche buena consisted of turbong chicken, crispy pata, spaghetti, fruit salad and grayham cake. everybody in the family took part in the preparation. and they’re yummy! it’s always the quality and not the quantity, di ba?
