Coke Zero

Coke Zero is the Coca-Cola Company’s version of the Pepsi Max, a zero-calorie/sugar drink aimed at male teenagers and young adults who think that “diet” Coke is for girls.  It just hit the Philippines a little over a week ago, claiming to taste just like regular Coke minus the sugar content.  In that sense Coke Zero disappoints because it doesn’t differ from from Diet Coke – or any other diet cola drink for that matter – in terms of color, taste, fizz, or caffeine hit.  What gives regular Coke its distinct flavor is the sugar itself, and I don’t think any sugarless concoction can replace that.

Bottom line – if you want to eat food that tastes great, be prepared to pack in all those extra calories.  The most delicious treats are the ones that add extra poundage you don’t need.

I have received Coke Zero a day before the launch (I’m not a VIP but there’s this idiotic convenience store that released their stock already) and as always, it tastes good. But, for me, Pepsi MAX tastes better than this one as Coke Zero, when drank in huge quantities like I did today, tastes a little less sweeter than Coke Light. My friends told me that it tasted like plastic (maybe drinking from a plastic bottle…there’s this PET taste that you can detect) and even aluminum (drinking from the can…meaning, Coke Zero’s tasteless) but I defended it, as I am a huge fan of diet soda.

But if you compared Coke Zero to Coca-Cola, the latter wins. It’s sweeter than Coke Zero, actually, and tastes refreshing compared to Coke Zero, it’s just like light beer (all the peeing, none the fun). If you compared Coke Zero to Coke Light, Coke Light wins but it’s a girly soda so, I stay away from it (although I always order Coke Light in fastfood chains.) Coke Zero vs. Pepsi MAX (or even Pepsi Light), Pepsi wins.

It’s not that Coke Zero sucks. I love the “tabang” factor of it (and it’s actually sweeter when the fizz runs out). It’s just that there are better choices for you, that’s the point where I agree to your post.

If I were you, wait for the coffee-flavored Coke (Coke Blak), although it was discontinued na daw. It tastes wonderful, according to my friend in France.

Coke Zero also hit me last week. I had my first taste when I saw a huge display in the supermarket and could not resist the urge to try. However, there isn’t much difference from Coke Light (and the ingredient statement says so as well). I think they are trying to pull a fast one on us bu slightly tweaking Coke Light and calling it something else. I also saw the tv ad and I had a big duh expression on my face afterwards. It seemed like a poor shot at the edgy character of a Mountain Dew ad. Anyway, let’s see how other people will react. But personally, I think sugar gives the best taste for sodas.

we had talked about coke zero maybe a week before its launch. they keep saying its a coke product marketed to men, so i was curious, me being a girl. i bought one and, where i bought it, they sold coke zero a little more expensive than coke light, so i was expecting a lot of…err…good and new factors in it. but when i drank it it tasted like coke light mixed with iron/aluminum (taste of the can). personally, i don’t like it. i think pepsi max is so much better. and their tv ad, it’s… lame. soooo lame. what’s surprising about a beverage without sugar these days? so surprising that they send two men down a cliff? like duh. i would have believed it more if they put two girls there instead.

all in all, i think im gonna give it 2 thumbs down. tsk tsk tsk.

coke zero sucks, not enough fizz, the taste is also not there

thing that makes me mad is they seem to be replacing coke light altogether in the phils with this coke zero, you cannot any longer find coke light………….and coke light tastes WAY better than coke zero, i have been drinking coke light for years and there is a huge difference, and the coke zero has only about half the fizz in it, so it tastes FLAT
