To me, Vietnamese food is probably the most refreshing kind of cuisine - it satisfies your hunger but it never feels heavy inside your stomach. I’m also a big lover of soup, and pho (noodle soup) is something I always look forward to whenever I eat Vietnamese.

Pho Bo with thinly sliced beef cooked in hot beef broth. Topped with cilantro, , spring onions saw leaves, and scallions. It costs 195 pesos.
I was really excited when the Verdana Gateway Tour introduced me to Bawai’s, a quaint, comfortable Vietnamese restaurant where every dish looks and tastes like a work of art.

Goi Cuon is Vietnamese Fresh Lumpia made from fresh noodles, shrimp, pork and vegetables wrapped in Vietnamese rice paper, served with special sauce. Costs 145 pesos for 3 pieces per order.

Pandan Iced Tea is 50 pesos each

Banh da Lon. Vietnamese sapin sapin, made of pandan and monggo beans.
“Bawai” means “grandmother” in Vietnamese and the woman behind the restaurant is no other than the grandmotherly Yong. It’s no wonder the food tasted as though I were in Vietnam myself! And if you’ll be dining with someone who’s not so adventurous, don’t worry - Bawai’s also serves fusion cooking to accommodate those who like more Filipino flavors in their food.
