At Chowking, you don’t have to worry about the rice shortage one bit. Eat as much rice as you want at Chow King because their yummy chao fan (fried rice) contains more rice and ingredients at a rolled-back price. If you think that it sounds too good to be true – trust me, it isn’t. I was pretty skeptical at first because obviously if a product is going to be cheaper, it can only mean that you’ll receive smaller servings or that more inferior ingredients will be used. But after trying out Chow King’s chao fan today, I discovered that servings-wise nothing has changed and quality-wise, the fried rice tastes even better.

Chow King’s chao fan comes in four distinct flavors – pork, beef, spicy, and the best-selling yang chow.

Pork Chao Fan (Fried Rice) at 39 pesos (formerly 49 pesos)

Tasty, flavorful, steaming hot and moist stir-fried rice mixed with pork slices, kangkong leaves, and spring onions, in a specially blended sauce of thick shrimp paste and sacha sauce. Can be topped with choices of fried or steamed dumplings.

Beef Chao Fan (Fried Rice) at 49 pesos (formerly 59 pesos)

Tasty, flavorful, steaming hot and moist beef chunks in stir-fried rice cooked with cabbage, carrot bits, and a zesty beef sauce. Can be topped with choices of fried or steamed dimsum.

Spicy Chao fan (fried rice) cost 79 pesos (still the same!)

Tasty, flavorful, steaming hot and moist stir-fried rice with tender beef cuts and succulent chewy chicken balls cooked in hot chili-garlic spices and a thick, sweet soya sauce. Can be topped with choices of fried or steamed dimsum. Warning: the spicy chao fan is not for the faint of heart!

Yang Chow Chao Fan (Fried Rice) at 79 pesos (formerly 89 pesos)

The premium chao fan dish is now more affordable than ever! Tasty, flavorful light-yellow stir-fried rice sauteed with chorizo bits, roasted pork asado bits, beaten egg, crisp vegetables topped with juicy sauteed shrimps.

I guess Chow King really knows that iba ang kain pag may kanin. Not only did they make rice more affordable for the budget-conscious; they also cooked it in ways no other fast food restaurant can.
