One of the best teas I’ve ever had in my life was a concoction made by Master Tea Blender David de Candia at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf’s Tea Appreciation Workshop several months ago. I was taken aback by how flavorful it was and I thought it’d make the perfect present for my tea-drinking friends. Unfortunately, that delicious tea brew wasn’t for sale then, and we didn’t know when it would be out in the market until very recently.

Yesterday, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL) finally launched what I think is the best tea they’ve come up with – African Sunrise.

What exactly is this full-bodied exotic tea made of? Its primary ingredient is African honeybush, exclusively grown by CBTL between the mountains of Riversdal in Western Cape, South Africa. It also has hints of tangy orange peel, and the sweet flavors of honeybush and mallow flowers. African Sunrise is available in three variants to cater to everyone’s tastes – hot, iced, and latte.

Hot African Sunrise Tea

I personally think that the hot African Sunrise Tea is the best among the variants because you can really taste the unique combination of all the herbs in the blend.

Cold African Sunrise Tea

To enhance the tea drinking experience, CBTL recommends that you pair the hot African Sunrise tea with matching dishes on the menu like Cheesecakes or the Pistachio Sans Rival, French Apple Pie and Honey Bran Muffin with latte African Sunrise, or the Chef’s Tuna Sandwich with the iced variant.

The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is located at TriNoMa, SM The Block, Gateway, Ortigas Park, Paseo Center, Bonifacio High Street, Mall of Asia, Convergys Ayala Avenue, Salcedo Village, Alabang Town Center, Rockwell, Robinson’s Ermita, Grreenhills Promenade, Robinson’s Galleria, Eastwood, Tomas Morato and 2 more branches in Cebu.
