The great thing about being invited to events is I get to be aware of new store launches that interests me. An invite to a delicatessen is one of them. Christopher Pettersson of Kingpin Syndicate Inc, a Talent Management/Event Management dropped me an invite to the inauguration and Press Launch of Dinelli Gourmet at Timog Avenue yesterday. It got me really excited as it is one more place to add to my list of suppliers for gourmet cooking.

Dinelli Gourmet Delicatessen is gourmet and specialty foods market, offering a fresh and unique selection of gourmet foods and kitchen equipment from Australia, Europe and USA. I didn’t expect Dinelli to offer such a wide variety of meat, cheese, and wine. What makes it really special is that they offer a pantry full of imported and hard to find goodies ranging – from spices, to lots of chocolate, to repacked nuts and kitchen utilities. The two-level dining area looks comfy and cozy with enough seats even for family gatherings.
I didn’t get to eat their house specialty but I heard that the Open Face sandwiches are one of their best-sellers among the diners. While waiting for the event to start, I took this opportunity to sample their cocktails and check on the items being sold at Dinelli.

Dinelli offers the superior marbling and color of Australian Wagyu beef, and US and Australian Black Angus YGA and Grade A Australian beef, even seafood like Salmon, Sea Bass, Black Cod, Trout, Mussels, Scallops and Prawns.

They also offer blocks of goose liver and blocks of duck liver plain or with 3% truffles, mousse of goose liver and more.
The array of spices is a homemaker’s dream. They also carry the Castaing producers of Foie Gras, prepared meals and Landaise specialties since 1925.

The cheeses are almost complete from raclette to my favorite gruyere. Those in search of semi-hard cheese that is firm melt quite easily and ha a milder flavors like the Cheddar, Edam, Gruyere, Appenzeller, Emmental and Bel Paese. There is the popular soft cheese – Brie and Camembert, followed by Ricotta, St Nectaire AOC, Macarpone, Cambozola Cheese Kaserie, Capricho de Cabra, Cracked pepper, Coulommiers and Pont-l’ Eveque have rich creamy texture. I am sure most of you will like their selection of hard cheese which is great for crumbling and grating like the Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino, Manchego, and Grana Padano.

A wide selection of fine wines.

They also sell a few kitchen wares like a fondue set, knives and pasta maker, to mention just a few that I spotted out there.

There’s just so much to explore at Dinelli from Antipasto to Crackers, Dips, Organic food products, Italian specialties, and other quality food brands for your eating pleasure.
The event soon started with hosts, The Amazing Race Asia 3 Philippine Team contestants Geoff Rodriguez and Tisha Silang and Australian Senior Trade Commissioner, Ross Bray as the guest of honor.

Guest of honor is the Australian Senior Trade Commissioner, Ross Bray, who facilitated the official ribbon cutting ceremony.

As an added bonus, I got the chance to talk to the Amazing Race 3 Philippine contestants who I hope will win tomorrow’s Finale.

Dinelli is definitely my deli shop because now I know where to find those hard-to-find ingredients for my cooking needs.

When my wife and I visited Dinelli’s a couple of months ago, we were surprised to see a familiar face: its manager who used to perform the same job at a competing deli located just up the road from her present place of work.
Apparently she has taken on a greater responsibility at this company.
