I invited my family to eat out at Healthy Shabu-shabu for dinner one Sunday because I had so much fun at the Healthy Shabu-shabu Bloggers Event. During the event, only Lauren was able to go with me, and I wanted to experience eating shabu-shabu with my family. I know that they would enjoy customizing their own meal.

The waiter pours the chicken broth into our pans as we choose which platter to get. At first, we thought we would get individual platters but we found out that the group platters were good for four and came with free dessert.

This plate of vegetables, squid balls, and noodles comes free with every platter you get, whether individual or group.

We ordered the seafood platter and the sirloin beef platter. The sirloin beef slices were incredibly thin and took less than 20 seconds to cook. The seafood platter had shrimp, squid, fish, oysters, and sea cucumber and was worth the hefty price because each piece was so fresh, you think they’d just caught it that morning.

The waiter helped us mix the sauce and determine which spices to add to the broth. He also pointed out which items should go first. I found out that if you place the corn first and eat it last, the broth gets a subtle sweet corn tang to it.

The broth bubbles, boils and cooks the shrimp, vegetables, and sea cucumber. Sea cucumber has a strange texture and slightly salty, seawater taste to it.

The dessert that came with the group meal was four large bowls of mixed fruit and gelatin on top of crushed ice, milk, and almond extract. We had the same dessert at the blogger event but the bowl we got this time was much bigger. And it was just as delicious and light as I remembered!
Total Bill at at Shabu-Shabu around 3,000 pesos for 4 persons because we got tenderloin beef.
