Whenever I buy alcoholic drinks at 7-11, I usually go for the beers – San Miguel Light, Cerveza Negra, or Kirin and Heineken when I feel like splurging a little. I think I might have found myself a new favorite drink, and the funny part is that it its made out of gin, my least favorite kind of alcohol.
At a 7-11 on the way to Tagaytay, I spotted an unfamiliar-looking bottle on the beer shelf: Gilbey’s Premium Strength with green tea extract. I wasn’t aware that Gilbey’s had come out with a new product, and was surprised that there hasn’t been any hype about it yet. My friends and I only bought two bottles because we weren’t sure if it would be any good, but once I took a sip, I began to wish we had gotten more.
Gilbey’s Premium Strength is a clear, light drink with a sweet, citrusy taste. The reason why I stay away from gin is because it makes me itch around the neck, but this one didn’t have any adverse effects on me whatsoever – just the nice, smooth buzz I usually get from beer, minus the bloated feeling on my tummy. I haven’t spotted Gilbey’s Premium Strength in the bars or restaurants I normally go to, save for Pier One, but you can buy it at 7-11 for around P45.

NICE! Me and my older cousins also came across the unfamiliar-looking bottle at a 7/11 here in mandaluyong. We ALSO bought 2 bottles, just to try it out! It tasted a little weird at first, pero nasasanay ka tlga and we eventually went back for a few more bottles. Thanks for the post!
Tasted this one last week. Loved it! I’ve always loved Gilbey’s Gin either with lime or mixed with other juices. This one with Green Tea is something interesting as well. Now I have a new favorite drink
ive been drinking this for the past 3 days in gilligan’s in ayala terraces. its good. it doesnt smell. its yummy. we finished 7 sets of this drink and 4 lang kami.. grabeh..lasing kami haha but still it was good.

Just was in Manila and stoped by the Blue Room (615 G. Nakpil Street in Malate) with a friend of mine.
We sat all night in there drinking these and what was a planned bar hop turned into an all night Blue Room affair with Gilbey’s Premium Strength.
Great taste! Now only if I could get that in the bars I usually hang out at in Pampanga!

it taste good talga! but gosh lakas ng tama…i had 5 bottles at super tipsy naku…and the following day sakit ng katawan at ulo ko..grabe!

I tasted this once when we had a mini HS reunion and its got me hooked! can anyone tell me where i can buy them in Cebu City? the place me and my barkada went had it but was at P80..
Anyone know where i can buy bottles of Gilbey’s cheap? only place i tried it was in a bar in I.T. Park and as good as it was P80 is kinda pricey for a bottle.

My cousin introduced me this drink just last Saturday. Took it out of the freezer and whoala! It was smooth and crispy. A little costly but I love that you don’t have any beer smell on you.

eto talaga ang fave ko ngayon. pero kahiya po sorry 2 bottles lang na dire-direcho (with pulutan) eh nag-eenglish na ako sa kalasingan hahaha. Sa bagay, hindi naman talga ako lasengga kaya mabilis lang ako tamaan. I love it sobra! First time ko natry ito sa Candy’s bar sa CDO. P75 siya doon. Sobrang sarap doon kasi malamig na yong bottle, yong baso pa nila ay 3/4 puno ng crushed ice. I think nagustohan ko yong crushed ice kasi gusto ko na lumabnaw na siya para as in natanggal na ‘yong kaunting pait. Para na lang akong umiinom ng h20 haha…Dire-direcho ko siyang ininom with pulutan …at pagkatapos ng 2 bottles …sarap ng pagkasenglot hehehe

wahhh this one is a kicker… panalo .. nag inom ako tapos di halata at walang beer smell
pwede… hehehe lasang mountain dew pa…
