After seeing Etihad Airways’ new premium services, I’m definitely riding them once I save up enough money to fly to Europe. Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is upping the on-board dining experience by offering passengers a little more than the choice between chicken or fish. Their new food and beverage managers have experience in five-star restaurants at the hospitality industry. Thanks to their expertise, the menu, presentation, and style of service delivery, you’d think you were dining in a restaurant rather than in your airplane seat. Here’s what business and first class passengers can expect on the menu.

Passengers have a choice between white bread, brown bread, and pita bread.

Those who prefer something sweet for breakfast can choose between plain croissants, plain au chocolate, banana muffins, and marble cakes.

For appetizers, you can have a half hard-boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, spring onions, channelled cucumber, smoked chicken, berlosa dried beef, emmentale cheese, and provlone cheese.

In between meals, you can order mixed bella olives and popcorn with cinnamon powder.

What makes service at Etihad Airways unique from other airlines is that you can order meals from an ala carte menu whenever you feel hungry. No need to wait for them to start serving meals! The breakfast main course #1 includes scrambled eggs, beef sausage, grilled tomato, and sauteed field mushrooms.

You can also order chicken tocino, scrambled eggs, steamed rice, and asparagus.

If you want something sweet for breakfast, there are treacle waffles and caramelized bananas.

For a more continental breakfast, get an omelette with fine herbs, tomato, and a watercress salad.

Even economy class passengers have more quality food options at Etihad Airways than in other airlines! For their flights to the Philippines, Etihad offers a choice of tomato and onion quiche and vegetable ratatouille; grilled chicken, cheese, and mushroom omelette with risolette ratatouille; and corned beef hash with rice. I have never seen so many fancy French names on an economy class menu before.

Economy class snacks include pan-de-sal sandwiches. I like how they took the trouble to provide food that Filipinos would appreciate.

I got to try out a little bit of everything on their menu at a press launch today…

…and everything tasted just as good as it looks!
