Flowers, roses, and the color red are such Valentine’s Day cliches, but even the most Scrooge-y of us will break a smile when we’re handed a box of edible sweets – no matter what day of the year it is. Instead of giving out boxes of chocolates to your girlfriend, boyfriend, or friends this year, why not try something different? Delifrance Philippines just came out with a new dessert – guess what it is!

Macarons are small, cream-filled cookies that were very popular in French courts during the 18th century. The Queen’s ladies-in-waiting loved its little dome shapes and the colors it came in, and French nobility couldn’t get enough of its sweet, rich taste. The popularity of macarons spread all over the world and across all social classes, especially people of the love-struck sort.

Delifrance’s macarons use nothing but finely ground almonds to achieve a chewy texture and a subtle hint of almond. They come in five different favors: lemon and orange for those who are enamored with a zesty passion; strawberries for the sweetness of romance; and mocha and chocolate mint, because it’s not Valentine’s Day unless you celebrate it with chocolate!

This Valentine’s Day, grab a box of macarons at any of the Delifrance branches nationwide.

    Hi there,

I’m a blogger who loves to read and surf food blogs. I’m also fond of watching cooking shows, I have tried some of the recipes I learned from food blogs & cooking shows. I’m a call center agent and because of global financial crisis, I’m afraid our company will soon be affected by it, so as early as now, I’m thinking of making desserts I can sell to my officemates & friends, something that will become a hit ’till I decide to focus on it.

I have linked your blog and it’s now included in my blogroll. I will visit here often to further my knowledge on cooking and restaurants & bakeshop worth visiting.

    Happy Monday!

AiDiSans last blog post..A different gift on Vday!

May I ask how much is a box of macarons? How many pieces in a box?
