I was not expecting much from the Krispy Kreme Chocolate Karnival launch except eat and taste the latest decadent gloss of chocolate, the Krispy Kreme’s Chocolate Glazed Doughnut. I was in for a surprise when I stepped in Bonifacio High Street! Literally, a carnival awaited me.
Despite nursing a headache, seeing my blogger friends lifted my mood. What are carnivals for but to have fun, laugh, eat, and cheer!
For some reason I am always there when Krispy Kreme has something new to launch.
I was there on the opening day of the first Krispy Kreme branch on November 30, 2006. I was there when the the conveyor belt that whisked the light, melts-in-your mouth doughnut started, and the Hotlight (“hot doughnuts now” red neon sign) flicked on. Eager customers like me queued in line at 6:00 AM, others even earlier than that. Krispy Kreme calls it the “Doughnut Theater”—and the sight and smell of one of their doughnut machines that can glaze a little over three thousand doughnuts an hour, was the reason behind the opening-day record breaking lines that caused pedestrian snarls.
I cannot count my Krispy Kreme moments so I didn’t want to miss today’s Chocolate Karnival fun.
Today, Hot Original Glazed gets itself a decidedly chocolate-y make-over with the addition of the Chocolate Glazed Doughnut to Krispy Kreme’s wide range of melt-in-your-mouth doughnut offerings.
Today’s launch of their new product gave me the chance to shoot the first Chocolate Glazed Doughnut as it came out from the conveyor belt. Now that’s a first for me.
As the doughnuts came rolling down the belt, the aroma of Chocolate reminded me of those days when I used to supervise Chocolate candy operations in a plant. This clown added a twist of merriment to the launch of these doughnuts. It feels good to unravel my inner child as I took the first taste.

Yes I am wearing shades because the sunlight gave me headache. The doughnuts gave me a sugar high though and temporarily lessened the intensity of my headache.

But all in all, the kids had a wonderful time and yes, they love the doughnuts!
I would love to try those soon. The donut conveyor is so cool. Glad everyone had a great time especially the kids.
