jollibee caban

Several days ago, I received a rather ornate mystery box of mystery from Jollibee. I had absolutely no clue what it contained because it was locked and delivered without the key. Later on, I learned that the key was to be delivered at a later date, and that the box contained information on Jollibee’s latest Pinoy fast food delight. What in the world could that be?

As it turns out, the caban contained a mouth-watering photograph of the new Jollibee Chicken Barbecue. Finally! I’m surprised it took them this long to come up with one, considering that chicken barbecue is a Pinoy favorite and that McDonald’s started including them on the menu several years ago (are those still available?).

However, the Jollibee chicken barbecue looks to be a little bit more promising than the McDonald’s variant, which was basically their fried chicken covered in their trademark barbecue sauce. The Jollibee chicken barbecue is made from generous premium chicken cuts dipped in a special marinade made of top secret ingredients, which endows it with a mouthwatering barbecue taste.

After being soaked in the marinade for a long time, the chicken is then cooked using a special technique that locks in the flavor while making the meat juicy and tender. The Jollibee Chicken barbecue is served with steaming java rice and extra barbecue sauce, just in case it doesn’t taste barbecue-y enough for you.

Jollibee Chicken Barbecue is now available in Metro Manila as a one-piece solo meal for P69 and as a two-piece solo meal for P119. Value meals, which come with a regular drink, are priced at P89 for the one-piece set, and P139 for the two-piece set. Not sure when it will be introduced to other parts of the country, but it will probably arrive there soon. I know what I’m having for dinner tonight!
