After a short makeup shopping spree at Etude House in Megamall, my mom and I had a quick lunch at Almon Marina Sandwich Bar and Deli. I’ve been noticing the restaurant’s homey interior for some time now, but every time I pass by it I’m either too full or on my way to have dinner at another restaurant. Today, I forgot to eat breakfast and was a little worn out from walking around the mall. Looks like this will be my change to finally try out the food at Almon Marina!

It’s a good thing we got to the restaurant when we did; ten minutes after we arrived, the place started filling up with the lunchtime crowd. By 12:30, there were no empty seats available. To start the meal, I ordered a bowl of Washington Corn Chowder (P68), one of the restaurant’s two Soups of the Day. I like that the corn chowder was served in a larger bowl than what I am used to at other restaurants.

I was feeling bloated and fat, so I only ordered a sandwich. My sour cream and chicken sandwich was surprisingly cheap at just P95. It could have used a little more chicken, but my hunger was finally satiated when I was done.

My mom got the seafood kebab (P160), which had alternating chunks of fish, vegetables, and shrimp. The kebab came with rice and a tangy lemon sauce.

Overall, Almon Marina is not a bad place for a quick, inexpensive, and filling meal. You can find it at SM Megamall Bldg A ground floor, near Power Books.
