After our filling Thai dinner at Oody’s, my boyfriend and I wandered off to find dessert. We’re both huge dessert fiends who like our post-dinner sweets gooey, rich, and chocolatey. Although it’s normally not difficult for us to find a cozy coffee shop to settle down and stuff ourselves silly, we did have a fairly heavy dinner and could only eat a light-ish dessert. It took a little bit of walking around Greenbelt for inspiration to strike – the last time we were here, we passed by the relocated Max Brenner on our way to a movie. I remember telling Marco how relieved I was to know that Max Brenner hadn’t closed down as I feared (in its old location is a Hermes store), and that we must have dessert there at our next date. Guess where we ended up going?

Without hesitating, I ordered us a chocolate fondue (P525) – a platter of fruits and sweets with two kinds of chocolate for dipping. The chocolate selections might seem a little limited – you can only choose from white, dark, or milk – but I think flavored chocolates would only interfere with the taste of the fruit.

In my opinion, white and dark chocolate are the best. The dark chocolate is an excellent complement to the sweetest items on platter, while the white chocolate makes the fruit slices a not-so-guilt-free dessert.

I couldn’t take more than a few pieces of fruit and brownie, but Marco finished everything like a real chocolate lover.

On our way out, we took a look at the chocolate display. I love the design on the Max Brenner chocolate boxes – it’d sure be nice to get one of these on Valentine’s day. *cough cough*
Max Brenner is located at the ground floor of Greenbelt 5, near Greenbelt 1.
