Yummy Magazine Media Dinner at Tosca, Dusit Thani Hotel

Wednesday Dec 9, 2009

Yummy-Share-The-Joy DECEMBER ISSUE COVER

I don’t know my way around the kitchen at all, but every now and then I feel inspired to learn how to cook certain dishes that strike my fancy. A couple of weeks ago I was able to replicate the pajeon at Kaya through a recipe I found on the Internet, but my early attempts at cooking involved following recipes from Yummy Magazine. This inexpensive, idiot-proof guide to kitchen noobs and not-quite noobs made cooking a lot less intimidating and complicated with its easy to follow recipes, mouthwatering food photos, and informative articles. Last night, I got the chance to dine with editors from Yummy Magazine at Tosca in Dusit Thani Hotel while they showed us the magazine’s new and exciting offerings.

Krispy Kreme Contest: International Fave Fan Search

Monday Jul 13, 2009

I am such a Krispy Kreme Fan since the day the first branch opened in 2006. I shouldn’t be eating doughnuts but I indulge only on special days. Today is a special day. Not only is it Krispy Kreme’s 72nd Birthday, it is Luijoe’s birth Anniversary. It’s truly a day to celebrate. It’s certainly a day to indulge on sweets. After my husband and I came from the cemetery to bring flowers to my son’s resting place, we joined a small gathering of bloggers at the Bonifacio High Street branch. My husband and I were in high spirits.

It was nice to be with friends and just enjoy the moment with coffee and my favorite “New York Cheesecake” while Butch ate Caramel Apple.

You’re the 1, Goldilocks

Monday Jul 13, 2009

This is my blog entry to the You’re the 1, Goldilocks contest in cooperation with Nuffnang

“Mom, I want Winnie, The Pooh and Tigger”, Luijoe’s eyes twinkled as he glanced at the well-loved Pooh Characters on the Goldilocks birthday themed cake book called “Kiddie Cakes”. I hugged him and stroked his head “So it will be Pooh and Tigger” for your sixth birthday celebration. “Hurray!” Luijoe cheered and jumped up with glee around the Goldilocks Bake Shop. The enchanting tales of Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Christopher Robin fascinated my little boy to no end and he wanted to share his delight to his classmates.

The big day soon arrived. It is July 13, 1999, Luijoe’s 6th birthday. The birthday celebration was held at his classroom during recess. His classmates “oohed and aaahed” with wonder as I removed the cake from the box.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you…happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday Luijoe, the little girls and boys sang to their heart’s content knowing that after the blowing of the candle, they will be able to taste the sweet goodness of the mocha chiffon cake.

Gingerbread House at Marta’s Cakes

Sunday Nov 30, 2008

Every weekend, my husband and I check our condo unit at Two Serendra and most of all the latest finds at Market! Market! and other ritzy restaurants in Serendra. I am in the lookout for Noche Buena ideas for those who don’t have the time to cook during the holidays.

One of my delightful finds is the Gingerbread House From Marta’s Cakes.

The quaint little houses added such a festive touch to their window display. Curious, I wanted to know if they actually sell Gingerbread Houses.
