If you feel that you’ve tried all the restaurants the Metro has to offer and are hungry for a world of new flavors, Restaurant 101 should be your next destination. Restaurant 101 is Enderun Colleges’ application restaurant, which means that it’s staffed by the students from the Philippines’ leading undergraduate culinary program. Eager to please and show off what they’ve learned, 101′s young chefs together with Enderun’s renowned faculty will delight you with traditional French cuisine, bold Asian flavors, and their commitment to making new dishes using local ingredients.

It was quite impressive as I noted the Parisian interiors of Restaurant 101 . It seems like I am transported to a different world the moment I stepped in. The restaurant can accommodate large parties and banquets in its two salon prives and the high-ceilinged Atrium. Private parties can occupy two adjoining wood-paneled rooms that can seat up to 24 guests. Go in further and you’ll enter the Bar d’Etoile, where Manila’s finest cocktails can be enjoyed under a glittering canopy of starlight and glass.
The food at the restaurant is just as pleasing to the senses as its interiors. Some of their most popular offerings include Lemongrass-scented Shrimp Broth Soup, Pompano Fillets a la Nicoise with Tomato Fondue and Virgin Olive Oil Emulsion, and Chicken Basquaise with Stewed Sweet Peppers and Bayonne Ham.
I got to taste for starters, the Salmon fillet, mi-cuit, caper-herb dressing and warm potato salad. Our main course , Chicken Basquaise with stewed sweet peppers and Bayonne ham.

The most indulgent dessert ever is Louis XV croustillant that was originally created by Chef Alain Ducasse in the famed Le Louis XV restaurant in Monte Carlo, Monaco. If you buy it at Monaco, it costs around Euro26. But you can get the Louis XV at Restaurant 101 for only 200 pesos.
Restaurant 101 also has affordable three-course daily lunch specials at only P300, and monthly wine-tasting dinners.
Restaurant 101 is open from Mondays to Saturdays, 11:30 am to 2pm for lunch and 6pm to 10pm for dinner. For reservations, call 856-500 local 101.
