Winners of the Healthy Shabu-Shabu Contest

Tuesday Dec 1, 2009

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Healthy Shabu-Shabu Contest! To recap: two weeks ago, we did a feature on Healthy Shabu-Shabu’s newest offerings – the Beef Wagyu dish and the King Crab Dish. We then asked our readers which of the two they’d like to try out, plus who they want to bring to Healthy Shabu-Shabu with them. Although we received an overwhelming number of responses (over 100 comments!), we can only choose the three most interesting or witty entries. Each winner will receive a P1,000 gift certificate to Healthy Shabu-Shabu so they can try out the dish of their choice with the person of their choice. I didn’t realize there were so many shabu-shabu fans out there with interesting stories to tell, and it was really tough picking the three winners. I hope you all get to try out Healthy Shabu-Shabu’s new dishes even if your entries weren’t chosen.

And the winners are….

Friday Nov 20, 2009

It’s been a while since my last visit to Healthy Shabu-Shabu, but the tasty new items on the menu makes me want to go back sometime soon. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept, Healthy Shabu-Shabu is a Japanese-style hot pot dish where you get to cook meat, seafood, and vegetables in chicken or mushroom stock right at your table. It just occurred to me too that Healthy Shabu-Shabu is a perfect place for a first date or blind date too – the novelty of cooking your own food is an instant icebreaker.

Healthy Shabu-Shabu at the Power Plant Mall

Tuesday Dec 2, 2008

I invited my family to eat out at Healthy Shabu-shabu for dinner one Sunday because I had so much fun at the Healthy Shabu-shabu Bloggers Event. During the event, only Lauren was able to go with me, and I wanted to experience eating shabu-shabu with my family. I know that they would enjoy customizing their own meal.

Healthy Shabu-shabu

shabu-shabu

Last month, I was bitching about how ultra-trendy fast food restaurant Pepper Lunch failed to live up to the hype of “cooking your own food.” It’s a shame, because that was pretty much the most interesting thing about the place; otherwise, it’s basically your standard, run-off-the-mill steakhouse where food is served twice as fast and costs thrice as much.

If what you want in a restaurant is the novelty of cooking your own food to suit your tastes, then I highly suggest that you make a trip to Healthy Shabu Shabu.
